It was a crisp, beautiful Christmas morning. The kind of day where the air is fresh, the world feels still, and our Mini American Shepherd, Teddy, is—as usual—demanding “just one more throw.”
But then, the unthinkable happened. One bad bounce, and Teddy’s favourite ball landed right in the middle of a thick, algae-covered swamp.
Teddy stood on the bank, looking at the “yucky” green water with his signature character-filled expression. He wanted that ball, but he wasn’t about to jump into the muck to get it.
We had a choice: Abandon the ball and let the morning be dampened, or find a way to get results.
1. Identify the “Muck” in Your Path
In our health journeys, we often hit a “swamp.” Maybe it’s a plateau in weight loss, a lack of energy, or a habit that feels too messy to fix. Like Teddy, we stand on the edge and think, “I want the goal, but I don’t want to get dirty.”
The key is realizing that you don’t always have to dive head-first into the mess. You just need a better strategy to reach across it.
2. The Power of the Right “Contraption”
Instead of wading in, Jim got creative. He built a “contraption”—a simple tool designed for one specific purpose: Retrieval.
In the world of wellness, your “contraption” is your system.
- It’s the science-backed nutrition that fills the gaps.
- It’s the trusted supplements that act as your lever.
- It’s the lifestyle changes that make the “impossible” reach suddenly easy.
Without the right tool, Jim would have been wet and frustrated. With it? It was “easy,” as he says in the video. Success is rarely about working harder; it’s about using a better tool.
3. Surround Yourself with a “Retrieval Team”
Teddy couldn’t get that ball alone. He needed his team.
Building a global health and wellness team in over 50 countries has taught me one thing: No one reaches their peak alone. Whether you’re trying to change your lifestyle or build a business, you need partners who are willing to stand on the bank with you, brainstorm a solution, and help you pull your goals out of the weeds.
The Result?
Within minutes, the ball was back, Teddy was happy, and we were back to enjoying nature.
If you feel like your health or your goals are currently “stuck in the swamp,” don’t walk away from them. And don’t feel like you have to drown in the mess to fix it. You might just need a new perspective, a better tool, and a partner to help you reach it.
Are you ready to stop staring at the swamp and start getting results?
